Eat with awareness and without judgment
To learn to listen to and trust your body again is going to take some practice. You need to become aware of how the body communicates with you before you can possibly listen to it. Your body's feedback comes in the form of hunger, fullness, comfort, discomfort, pleasure, tastiness, tastelessness, etc. You can become a complete expert on your own body by simply eating with awareness of how your body feels before, during, and after eating.
Eat consciously
To become more conscious of your eating:
Sit down when you eat. Always.
Eat without distractions. Do not eat and read, eat and watch TV, eat and drive, or eat and do anything else at the same time.
In order to be aware and take more pleasure in your food put your fork down after each bite and do not pick it up again until your mouth is empty.
