Lunch Puzzle:
Last Saturday, Fay and three of her friends gathered at a local restaurant for lunch. Each woman had spent the morning engaged
in a different activity (one had been doing research at the local library). As it turned out, each friend was running a few minutes
late and arrived at a different time (12:05, 12:10, 12:15, or 12:20) for the group's noon lunch. Using the following clues and
illustration, can you match each woman with her seat (lettered A through D) at the lunch table, as well as determine her morning
activity and the time she arrived at the restaurant? NOTE: "Left" and "Right" refer to each woman's left and right as she sits facing
the table.
Seat A
Seat D
TABLE
Seat B
Seat C
1. Rita was neither the first nor the last to arrive.
2. Carolyn arrived at some point before the woman who sat in seat A, but at some point after the woman who spent the morning
walking in the park.
3. The woman who had been to the park sat in seat B, next to the woman who spent the morning shopping (who didn't arrive at 12:10).
4. Carolyn sat directly opposite the woman who had been to the hairdresser and to Naomi's immediate left.
